Helping You Pursue the Positive Path

Thank you so much for all the prayers, emails, and positive thoughts. I probably shouldn't have sent a newsletter amid such grief, but your support is getting me through. I appreciate all of you more than you know.

Writing online can be a lonely business. It’s hard to know when you’re on the right path. I feel like you’re showing me the way.

My goal with starting Speaking Bipolar was to help others understand and thrive with bipolar disorder. During the last four years, I’ve learned that my greatest strength is more than just understanding bipolar - it’s in teaching others how to be positive while fighting our enemy.

In between seeing the gazillion tax clients I saw in the last three months (well, probably closer to 300, but it felt like more) I thought a lot about the future of Speaking Bipolar. It’s my passion project and the thing I would like to do full time.

My biggest problem, though, is that besides being bipolar and having great days and terrible days, I’m also easily distracted. So I run off and start project after project, trying to find the one that opens the door I’m looking for.

The break I took from creating content so I could finish all the tax returns in my office helped me see the need for simplicity. It also reminded me of what you’ve already told me you want.

Last fall, I created the 30 Days of Positivity email course as a gift to you. I saw how many of you were struggling as we entered the holiday season, and I wanted to help you stay in the right headspace. Hundreds of you have completed the course in the months since, and 100% of you have told me you want more.

I’m listening.

The Speaking Bipolar Positivity Club will resume weekday positivity posts starting on Monday, May 16, 2022. If you’ve been waiting for more since last December, your wait is almost over. If you’ve not already signed up, just create an account and you’ll receive each new post directly in your inbox.

The second most common reply I’ve received regarding the 30 Days course was that many of you cannot afford to join a paid club, even at $5/month. I get that. While I have a “professional” job, I make little more than the minimum wage in many states.

I started Speaking Bipolar to help people. I feel my calling hasn’t changed and a paywall shouldn’t hold that guidance captive.

It brings me great joy to tell you the Speaking Bipolar Positivity Club will continue to be offered without charge. All of you, regardless of your financial status, can continue to get the content you desire.

Starting on May 16, the Club will have two primary goals: to promote positivity and to thrive with bipolar. Much of the content will be exclusive to the Club. The posts I share on other sites will appear in the Club for a full 30 Days before being published anywhere else.

How does this move me toward my goal of being able to work for the blog full time? I’m not sure. I strongly believe that when you put good out into the world, good returns to you. If I’m meant to create online content full time, the money will appear, but even if it doesn’t, I’m not giving up.

I keep every email you send to me. Your words tell me that what I’m providing is worth more than any money I could make from selling them.

While I will occasionally still share content on other topics, my biggest efforts will go into creating content about staying positive with bipolar. Future installments of The Adventures of Brody Bipolar will also appear in the Club first, with at least one new episode planned for each month. If you missed the introduction, you can read it inside the Club.

What about the Sunday newsletter? It’s not going anywhere. The Sunday newsletter will continue to have a weekly update from me, news on what I’m working on, and featured content to help improve your life. If that’s all you want to hang on for, I’m happy to have you here. Just seeing the high open rate on my emails makes my heart happy.

If you want a little more, then please join the Speaking Bipolar Positivity Club. I look forward to seeing you inside.

Until next time, keep fighting.

Scott
